One of the best parts of this location is having Tybeeβs Back River just steps away. Known for its calmer waters, beautiful marsh views, kayaking, fishing, dolphin sightings, and spectacular sunsets, Back River offers a completely different experience from the busier Atlantic beachfront.
Take an evening stroll toward the water to catch the sunset, spend the day exploring by kayak or paddleboard, or head over to South Beach when youβre ready for the classic Tybee experience. The South Beach area is home to the Tybee Pier & Pavilion along with a lively collection of restaurants, bars, beach shops, and access to the Atlantic Ocean.
Tybee is easy to explore by bike or golf cart, so you can spend your vacation discovering local seafood spots, colorful island neighborhoods, beaches, and landmarks at your own pace.

## Transit
Getting around Tybee Island is easy, and Drift Innβs south-end location puts you close to beaches, restaurants, shops, and many of the islandβs favorite spots.
Tybee is a compact island and is especially fun to explore by bike or golf cart. Bike and golf cart rentals are available locally, making it easy to leave the car at the cottage and enjoy the island at a more relaxed pace.
Walking is also a great option for exploring the surrounding South End and Back River areas.
If you prefer not to drive, local taxi and shuttle services operate around Tybee and can also provide transportation between the island and Savannah.
Drift Inn includes parking for up to 3 vehicles at the property. Please keep in mind that most public parking around Tybee Island is paid, so biking, walking, or using a golf cart can be a convenient option during your stay.

Spend the day at the beach, rinse off outside when you return, fire up the grill, and end the evening relaxing around the fire pit. Youβll also be within easy reach of Tybeeβs restaurants, shops, and island attractions.

Great location a block from a pretty pier and the beach. The house was clean, the kitchen had the basics we needed for cooking, the beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning worked fantastic. We had a small issue that the host was super responsive and communicative about, solving as quickly as possible, and overall, it was a great stay.

Our 18th Anniversary get away! Michaelβs cottage was beautifully decorated, smelled so clean walking in the door. Very comfortable furniture, beds! Very safe area, close to the beach. Very quiet area. Walking distance to restaurants, beach. Michael was available anytime I needed him! Although I didnβt need ANY assistance he reached out! I highly recommend if you are going to Tybee to book his nice cottage! We will definitely be returning! We got married on Tybee 2/2/08 so we are always visiting! Do your self a favor BOOK IT!!!! Thank you Michael for your generosity!!!!

My family & I drove over 16 hours to spend a long weekend in Tybee. Michael was an EXCELLENT host- checking in making sure we had everything we needed and providing us with local recommendations. This beach cottage had everything you could possibly need, we LOVED the open layout of the living room & kitchen. The furniture was sooo comfortable and felt like taking a nap at your grandma's house lol. The beds were super comfy and provided us a restful stay. Amazing location- with the back river right across the street we NEVER missed an amazing sunset, or a little downtime collecting seashells and watching people fish. Anything we needed was in a 10 miles radius, The agave Mexican place & crab shake were amazing, plus tybean every morning for coffee. If you are looking for an amazing host & an amazing place look no further. We look forward to staying again.
